Finding Your Measurement

Did you know that over 80% of women are wearing the wrong bra size? At Amour Caché we want to make sure you walk away with the best fit possible. Follow the instructions below to find your size. Remember to measure yourself every 6 months, this is how often our bodies and sizes can fluctuate!

Band Size

Make sure you are wearing a non-padded bra to begin with. Place a measuring tape around your rib cage directly under your bust where the band of your bra would sit. Ensure the measuring tape is parallel to the floor. If someone else is measuring you, keep your hands down by your sides. Pull the measuring tape snug and record your measurement. Round up or down to the nearest full inch. If your rib cage measurement is an odd number, add 3”, if your measurement is an even number, add 2”. This is your Band Size.

Cup Size 

Place the measuring tape around the fullest part of your bust, crossing the nipples (the APEX), and parallel to the floor. If someone is measuring you, keep your arms by your sides. Pull the tape lightly so that it stays in place, but avoid pulling too snugly. Round this number up or down to the nearest full inch. This is your overbust measurement. Subtract your band size (the measurement above) from your overbust measurement and use the chart below to determine your Cup Size.

Bra Fitting Tips

1. The center front (the gore) of underwired bras should lay flat against your chest. If the gore is lifted from your chest, it may indicate that the cup is too small. This does not apply for wireless bras.
2. Your bra band should hug your rib cage snugly and remain parallel to the ground throughout the day. Bra band movement indicates the band may be too big and you may want to size down in band size. 
3. Adjust shoulder straps so they are comfortably snug and stay put. It's common to have asymmetrical breast sizes, so one strap may be adjusted tighter than the other - this is totally normal. Adjust the straps as your body requires. 
4. If your breasts are spilling over the sides of the cup (near the underarms) or above the cup, your cup size may be too small and you may want to size up in cup size.
